“Heroes Were Ordinary People”
Today is Veteran’s Day in the United States. This is a day in which we honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. To many of us, anyone who joins the military is considered a hero since they have given their lives, in living and in death at times, to honor, protect and defend our liberty and way of life. A simple “thank you” to those who are serving and who have served. (AP)
“All right, they’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us … they can’t get away this time.” (Chesty Puller (USMC, when surrounded by 8 enemy divisions during the Korean War)

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to, live by them.” (John F. Kennedy)

“Heroes didn’t leap tall building or stop bullets with an outstretched hand; they didn’t wear boots and capes. They bled, and they bruised, and their superpowers were as simple as listening, or loving. Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossible knotted, they could untangle someone else’s.” (Jodi Picoult, Second Glance)

“A hero is no braver than an ordinary man (woman), but he (she) is brave five minutes longer.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
